July Favourites

I cannot believe that it is the end of another month and a month since I wrote my June favourites post. The months are flying by and there are lots more products that I have been loving.

Here are my 5 favourite products throughout July.

Real Techniques makeup brushes.

Some of my favourite brushes from my collection

I feel like I am 'late to the party' with these makeup brushes. They have been available since 2011 however i have only just bought some and realised how AMAZING they are. I have the core collection kit, the eye starter kit and the stippling brush. All of the brushes are so soft and apply my makeup perfectly. They have completely transformed my makeup routine and I would never use any other brushes. I have not got a bad word to say about them

Garnier Micellar cleansing water

This is a product that everyone needs to try. It may not look very exciting in the bottle but it is everything that your skin needs. It is a light skin cleanser which actively removes makeup (including waterproof mascara) whilst cleansing your skin. It feels very light and refreshing on your skin and dries in quickly without the need to rinse it off.

The largest bottle is 400ml which allows 200 uses for the small price of £4.99.

Doughnut bun maker

From this......

To this.....
If you like quick and easy hairstyles then this is the accessory for you. This 'doughnut' allows you to pull all of your hair into a bun leaving it looking sleek and tidy. I always wear my hair like this to work as it ensures that all of my hair is off my face. If I am heading out after work I can easily dress up this look by adding a clasp, hair band or bow to my hair (similar to the style above). The 'doughnut' comes in a variety of sizes and colours to suit all hair lengths.

VO5 revive me daily 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner

I bought this shampoo because I was going away for the weekend and I didn't want to take two big bottles of shampoo and conditioner with me. I was a little hesitant about buying this product because it is a shampoo with conditioner built in and I can find these to leave my hair feeling greasy.

However I was pleasantly surprised because this is totally different. The product leaves my hair feeling smooth and smelling fresh. Using this product it takes me half the time to do my hair as i am applying both shampoo and conditioner to my hair at once.

This shampoo has quickly become my new favourite.

MUA eyebrow pencil

I'm already a huge fan of the MUA makeup brand and this product is another one that I love from the range.

I have never really bothered about my eyebrows before but I have began filling them to give them more definition. This MUA pencil is the perfect product. The product has a waxy consistency making it very easy to apply without tugging at your skin. The product coats hairs well, keeping them in place all day.

The pencil comes with a small brush on the end which allows you to brush through your eyebrows before applying the product and once you have applied it.

This is the first eyebrow product that I have tried and it is definitely a winner.

These 5 products have undoubtedly been my favourites throughout July and I have used the majority of them for the full month and will continue to use them in months to come.

Keep your eyes peeled for full blog posts and reviews on a couple of the products mentioned in this post in coming weeks.

Primark False Nails || Nails

The nails in their packaging
Aztec pattern

The Primark P.S Beauty range has really expanded recently. There is a large variety of beauty products from eye shadow pigments to pallets and lip products to makeup brushes. However my favorite products from the range are the false nails and absolutely LOVE them.

I have been using the Primark false nails for the past year and a half now and I have worn a new set every week since then. I used to paint my nails regularly but I hated when they began to chip and I would have to re-paint them. I have very short weak natural nails that are very uninteresting and I am awful at nail art therefore I decided to try out false nails.

The nails come in a variety of patterns and colours to suit everyone's tastes and to match any outfit. These include fruit, flamingos, aztec spotted, ombre, floral, metallic or glitter. There is a vast array to choose form.

Each pack of nails contains 24 nails in a variety of sizes and a small tube of glue. Priced at £1 per packet they are a BARGAIN!!

Floral, flamingos and orange ombre nails

The nails come in a variety of sizes meaning they can fit any size of nail bed. When I bought my first packet I was concerned that the nails were going to be too big. However I was pleasantly surprised because the nails fit perfectly on my nail bed and I never have to cut them to size.

The nails are very long wearing and I can usually wear them for a week before changing them. Even then I usually change them because I have bought a new set that I want to wear not because they need to changed due to them falling off.  Furthermore unlike nail polish the design on the nails never wears off or chips.

The nails are very natural looking and fit onto the nail bed very well. The material that the nails are made of is easy to cut to size if you need to cut them and easy to file down to your desired length.

If you prefer more of a plain nail so it looks like you have just been for a fresh manicure then Primark offer false nails with no design on them, just colour. Like the designs there is a wide selection of colours to choose from. To add a bit of sparkle to these plain nails I add a glitter topcoat to make an accent nail.

I have tried other brands of false nails that are more expensive however I prefer these ones. The quality is the same if not better and the choice of patterns is larger than other brands.

In the whole year and a half that I have been using these false nails I have never been disappointed by them. I always buy a few boxes at a time so I have a choice when I am putting on a new set and because I can never just choose one box to buy.

Next time you are in Primark stop at the P.S Beauty and have a look at at all the products on offer. If you are looking to try false nails I would highly recommend these.

Have you tried the Primark false nails? If so what did you think?

How to apply and remove false nails post coming soon.

10 Things To Do This Summer

As we are now in the middle of summer (although sometimes the weather may not show it) and you may have just finished school for summer, be on holiday from work or have been on holiday from University for a while and are beginning to get bored. This post will give you 10 ideas of things to do this summer.

1. Go to the beach

One of the best things to do during the summer is go to the beach. There are so many things that you can do meaning that you can spend the whole day there. Swim in the sea, have a BBQ, toast marshmallows or sunbathe, these are some of the best things to do with friends. The beach is FREE meaning there are no excuses for being bored on a sunny day.

2. Meet up with friends you may have not seen in a while

Meet up with not text them to see what they have been up to. I am as guilty as anyone else of doing this. It is so easy to text someone and see what they are up to and how they are but now that you have some free time, set aside some of it to meet up with friends that are home from university or are off work the same time as you. Catching up for a coffee or drink outside in the sun can turn into one of the best days. Arranging a day out with a group of friends can give you something to look forward to.

3. Have a girls day

What better way to spend a whole day than with your closest friends. Shopping, makeover, spa day, manicure or out for drinks. Plan a full day and make the most of it.

4. Do something that you have always wanted to

Now that you have more spare time you have time to do something that you have always wanted to. Whether that is visiting a new place you have longed to explore, start a new hobby, learn to do something or even start a blog. GO FOR IT!! It may turn into something that you really love. I started my blog at the start of my summer holidays and i am loving writing it.

5. Spend time with family

If you are not going on a family holiday this year then you can still make time to have days out with your family. Although you may live with them you may spend all day at work, school or uni whilst they are at work meaning you only see them in the mornings and evenings. Therefore this is the perfect opportunity to spend time with them.

6. Make cocktails and mocktails and sit in the garden

If the sun is out what better way to enjoy it than with cocktails. There are so many cocktails to suit everyone's taste and simply take the alcohol out to create mocktails for those driving or who don't drink. That way they are still involved in the fun and they look exactly the same and taste just as delicious. Grab a group of friends and a cocktail shaker to make your own cocktails.

7. Go to a festival

Not all festivals involve camping outside, there are so many festivals that run throughout the summer whether that is a food festival, a comedy festival or a music festival. Some festivals fun for a few weeks throughout summer giving you plenty of time to visit them. Some festivals are even free entry giving you a free day out.

8. Book a holiday for next year

If you have been particularly bored or jealous of other people going on holiday and don't want to spend the whole summer at home next year then book a holiday for next year. Whether that is a weekend city break or a holiday in the sun it will be something to look forward to for next year.

9. Go to an outdoor concert

If a festival is not your thing then there are lots of outdoor concerts that you can attend. Listening to an artist outside whilst the sun goes down is a brilliant way to spend a summer night.

10. HAVE FUN!!

Whatever you choose to do this summer make sure you have fun. Some of the best days out can be completely free or last minute. Research events that are going on in your area and attend them to make the most of your summer.

Whilst enjoying your summer holidays take lots of pictures of the things that you do. Therefore you will have the memories in picture form so you can remember what you did in summer 2015.

Liz Earle Facial || Skincare

At the end of June I had booked in for a Liz Earle facial at the counter in John Lewis. I have used the products in the past and absolutely loved them.  I had a very  relaxing facial done by one of the skin experts whilst picking up some skin care tips.

My appointment was at 11 am, I arrived a little early giving me enough time to look at the skin products and the make up. After trying out some of the skin care products on my hand it was time for my appointment. I was greeted by one of the skin experts Lisa who was going to be doing my facial. She took me over to the table where all of the products were laid out, I was in my element! Before the facial began i was offered a glass of Prosecco and how could i refuse? I was feeling very spoiled already.

Now that I was feeling very relaxed Lisa began my facial. Before applying any products to my face she asked me about my skin type and how it reacted to certain products. I was also asked about my daily skin routine so she could get an idea of the types of products I like to use. The answers to all of these questions helped Lisa decide what products from the Liz Earle range to use on my skin.

My skin type is combination with a variety of skin types at different points on my face. The parts I struggle with the most are the dehydrated and dry patches on my cheeks. Throughout the facial I was hoping to get some tips and product recommendations on how to cure this.

Lisa began with applying the hot cloth cleanser to my face messaging it into the dehydrated and dry patches in particular. This was removed with warm water on a Liz Earle muslin cloth. After the product was fully removed my skin was sprayed with Instant Boost Skin Tonic leaving my skin feeling instantly refreshed. When this dried into my skin Laura applied the Skin Repair Moisturiser to my skin which is created to repair any problem areas of your skin. After the moisturiser was applied my skin felt instantly rejuvenated and smooth unlike when using other products that can make my skin sting and feel tight.

I received a card with recommendations of products to use on my skin and showing the problem areas of my skin. I loved having a facial and my skin felt extremely hydrated afterwards. I can honestly say that after just one use of these products they made a big difference to my skin.

If you have never used Liz Earle products before booking in for a facial at a Liz Earle counter is a great idea because you can find out about all of the products and which are best for your skin.
